On March 11, 2019, H.E. Mr. Xi Jinping, President of the People's Republic of China extended condolences message to H. E. Madam Sahle-Work Zewde, President of the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia on the tragic crash of Ethiopian Airlines ET302. Here is the full text of the message.

Excellency,

Upon learning with shock of the tragic crash of the Ethiopian Airlines flight which claimed lives of many including Ethiopian and Chinese citizens, I wish to, on behalf of the Government and People of the People’s Republic of China and in my own name, extend my deepest condolences and heartfelt sympathies to the bereaved families who lost their loved ones. I am fully convinced that the Ethiopian Government will efficiently and effectively conduct follow-up work in the aftermath of the accident. China stands ready to provide necessary support and assistance.
