In answering the call of H.E. Dr. Abiy Ahmed, Prime Minister of Ethiopia, H.E. Tan Jian, Chinese Ambassador to Ethiopia, participated in the 200 Million Seedling Planting Campaign at the Gulale Botanic Garden, Gulale Subcity, Addis Ababa, on July 29th, 2019, organized by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ethiopia.

“We are here today to observe the tree-planting event, part of PM Dr. Abiy’s initiative of “Green Legacy” with the goal of planting 200 million trees in a single day. China supports this initiative, and the embassy is eager to contribute to the realization of this goal. The Chinese President Xi Jinping has put much emphasis in Green Development. It is a concept that has been incorporated into China’s developmental policy, and it also corresponds to Ethiopia’s policy initiated by PM Dr. Abiy. China and Ethiopia enjoys the Comprehensive Strategic Cooperative Partnership, I will do my level best to broaden and deepen our cooperation.” Amb. Tan said in an interview.
