On August 7, 2009, Mr. Guxiaojie, Ambassador of China to Ethiopia, accepted an interview by the journalist and cameraman of WIC, giving a brief introduction on the latest development of Sino-Ethiopian cooperation in the fields of politics, trade and economy and so on.

According to the briefing of Ambassador Gu, on the basis of traditional friendship between the two countries, China-Ethiopia relations has enjoyed rapid development over recent years, with frequent exchanges and further cooperation in various fields such as infrastructure, education, health and human resources. Last week, 41 Ethiopian students have been granted scholarship by the Chinese Government for their study in Chinese distinguished higher education institution. The fifth Chinese medical team and the third Chinese young volunteer’s team have arrived in Ethiopia early this year and began their service in Ethiopia.
